Regional print-y events

"Dandelion Puff" by Lila Oliver Asher, in the perusal bins at WPG now.

For WPG fans in the area, this is the LAST WEEKEND to see Lila Oliver Asher’s solo exhibition, Reflections Past and Present.  For print aficionados in the greater mid-Atlantic, check out some of these upcoming events:

Barry Moser artist lecture at the Brandwine River Museum–Saturday, May 26, 11 am.  Did you like our Wood Engraver’s show?  Barry Moser is one of the fore-most American wood engravers, and he will be giving a lecture in conjunction with Bookwright, his exhibition at the museum. The Brandywine River Museum is in Chadds Ford, PA, and more information about this event as well as directions can be found at the link above.

2011 Gretchen Hupfel Symposium: The Art of the Book in the 21st Century–for those interested in artist books, rare books, or antique books and their relationship to printmaking, this event is for you. It runs Friday, March 25, 7-9 pm and Saturday, March 26, 8:30 am – 3 pm at the Delaware Center for Contemporary Art in Wilmington, DE, alongside their ongoing exhibition The Book: A Contemporary View.

Ink and Imagery-Regional Printmaking Invitational–Starting April 1 at Blue Spiral 1 in Asheville, NC, this exhibition features the work of eight printmakers, including former WPG member Fleming Jeffries and our neighbor printmaker to the south, Tanja Softic out of Richmond, VA.  This show looks well worth the trip, if you’re anywhere even near the area.
