Sneak Peek: National Small Works 2011

The results are in for our 14th Annual National Small Works show!  From 548 images our juror, Robert K. Newman of the Old Print Shop, narrowed it down to the lucky 50 prints.  Robert said that each pass through the prints got harder and harder, and if possible the show would have liked to see the show double in size!

Unfortunately, we just don’t have the room for that, and we want to thank all the artists who applied, this year’s batch of applicants produced some wonderful work!  You can see those who did make the cut starting on August 3 in the gallery.  In the mean time, here’s a  few of the prints that got in:

"Waiting for Reformation" by Matthew Egan of Greenville, NC. Color Lithograph, 12x9 in.

"Light Descending a Staircase II" by Carmi Weingrod of Renton, WA. Sugarlift Aquatint, 13x10

"Calm Day at Fort Stark" by Hannah Phelps of New Boston, NH. White line woodcut, 8x10 in

"Manhattan Bound" by Linda Adato of Brooklyn, NY. Color etching, aquatint, and softground, 4.75x3.75
