Call for Entries from WPG

We have two calls for entries that are live right now from WPG:

"Fallen Nest," embellished monoprint by Anne McLaughlin, WPG artist member and inaugural mini-solo exhibitor.

Press Room Mini Solos–For the first time ever, we are inviting outside artists to apply for month-long mini solo exhibitions in the Press Room.  Formerly The vault for Little Tavern Hamburgers, the original tenant of the Pyramid Atlantic Art Center building was retrofitted as an exhibition space in 2010. The room is 17×10 feet, white-washed, with fixed lighting and 46.5 linear feet of 3 in deep (4 in including the lip) display shelving around the perimeter. Outlets are available for installation purposes. The room also houses a small printing press (hence the room’s name) with a 13×36 in. bed, available for demonstrations.  Any artists residing in the US age 18 and over may apply, 3/4 of the work must be related to papermaking, book arts, or printmaking. Deadline is December 31.  For the full prospectus and instructions on submitting your application, see the link above.

Excellence in Printmaking–Printmaking students age 18-24 in the mid-Atlantic region are encouraged to apply to this show, now in its second year.  50 prints will be selected by Joann Moser, senior curator at the Smithsonian American Art Museum, for the exhibition in February.  One of those prints will win $500.  Other prizes are also awarded.  This is a great resume builder for young artists, and you get a chance at $500!  Deadline is December 10.  You can see the full prospectus and entry instructions at the link above.

Good luck everyone!
