Pyramid Atlantic has just released some new workshop dates for the upcoming months. These workshops are a great introduction to the media, as they only last one or two days, no need to commit to a full semester of classes. If you like a technique (which we bet you will!), you can always sign up for another workshop or even for studio time to keep creating. Here are some of our top picks for classes:
Introduction to Vandercook Letterpress-Saturday, January 14, 10-4 pm–letterpress has enjoyed a serious resurgence in popularity of late. With letterpress skills, you can make your own stationary, wedding invites, and more!
Introduction to Screenprinting Fabric-Saturday, February 4, 12-5 pm–of course you can print a t-shirt, but with the skills learned here you can move even further with your DIY creativity. Print some fabric to create fun throw pillows or curtains or even placemats (with a little weatherproof sealing available at any fabric store).
Cast Paper Hands-Mondays, January 23 and 30, 6-8 pm–Paper moves into the three-dimensional with this unusual workshop. Participants will make a plaster mold of their hands and then use cotton linters to make detailed replicas.
You can browse all these workshops and more at the link to Pyramid’s workshop website above. Want to check out the facilities before you come? Stop on by to say hello to the Pyramid crew and make the visit doubly interesting by coming upstairs to see the show!
