We told you about some things to add to your fall calendar, and now we have even more!
Ellen Verdon Winkler and Max-Karl Winkler were both accepted into the Real People 2012 exhibition, sponsored by the Northwest Area Arts Councilin Crystal Lake, Illinois. Max-Karl’s print, Standing Nude, was awarded an honorable mention cash prize. You can see this exhibition for one more day (it’s up through the 28th) and also see his award-winning print in the bins here.
Lila Oliver Asher (and former WPG member Helga Thompson, among others) has been included in the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County exhibition Bookmarks, at the Kramer Gallery (in the Silver Spring Civic Center). This exhibition features work by artists whose pieces are in Montgomery County’s Works on Paper Collection, and is presented in conjuction with Pyramid Atlantic’s upcoming Book Arts Fair. This exhibition runs October 4 – November 23, and the opening reception is Thursday, October 11, 6-8 pm.
Finally, we wanted to mention autoGRAPHIC at Northern Virginia Community College’s Tyler Teaching Gallery, as it features two former WPG members Allison Long Hardy (also an Excellence in Printmaking winner) and Andis Applewhite. This exhibition is on view October 1 through November 2, with an opening reception on Wednesday, October 3 from 5:30 – 7:30.
