With everyone between semesters, we thought it would be a good time to focus on students trying to squeeze in internship, residency, and other applications during their break.  WPG, of course, has two opportunities currently open to students: our Excellence in Printmaking exhibition (final deadline December 31 – NO entry fee!) and our Winter Internships program.  You can read more about those at the links.  We also wanted to share these opportunities:

SGCI Student Fellowships – these are awarded to individuals who exhibit outstanding promise in the fine art practice of printmaking. Students may self-nominate but must have a faculty sponsor/nominator submit a letter of support. The award is $500 for the undergraduate student and $1000 for the graduate student.  The deadline for applications is February 1, 2013.  Further details can be found at the link.

Tamarind Institute Summer Workshop – In this month’s newsletter we shared an article by a current lithography workshop attendee.  If you’re interested in this program, the summer workshops are a little shorter (four weeks) but still provide a comprehensive introduction to lithography.  Applications are due February 1, and further details can be found at the link.
